Each switch should send one press; the wheel should report steady direction and tick size. Dead buttons, sticky middle clicks, or skippy scroll show up immediately — the dedicated scroll test adds up/down counters and ticks per second.
Gaps under ~80 ms usually mean switch bounce (the mouse double-clicks by itself). Deliberate double-clicks land around 100–250 ms; Windows accepts up to ~500 ms.
Polling is how often the mouse reports position to the PC. A browser test estimates Hz from pointer timing; peak should match your OS and vendor setting when the link is healthy.
CPS measures click speed in a timed window. A 5-second run filters lucky 1-second bursts — not to be confused with unrelated “CPS” acronyms elsewhere on the web.

Every primary click bumps its counter once per press. Scroll ticks rise evenly both directions — missing middle clicks often mean a worn wheel switch.
No sub-80 ms chatter when you intended a single click. Deliberate double-clicks should log consistently between ~100–500 ms.
Peak Hz should match your software setting (e.g. 1000 Hz). Large gaps in the bar graph can mean USB power saving or a weak wireless link.
CPS scores feel stable across repeated 5s runs. Tracking trails stay continuous during slow movement without long gaps.
